I recently moved house and travelled past this house many times before actually visiting. For a while I was not sure if it was still lived in. I don't actually know anything of the history of the house, but for some reason, it was the most creepy building I have ever visited. The things inside made me feel as though whoever lived here wasn't in a very good state of mind with cuttings of real human hair in draws, diarys that were barely legible
    and medicine bottles everywhere.
I had no idea what was going to be inside, and I was pretty shocked but all the same ecstatic about what was inside. The outer presentation is what drew me in, I went for a wonder on my own with my iPhone and then back again with a friend with a better camera. They have recently started removing the cars from outside.

This may be a very long report, but I hope you find this as interesting as I do, even if some of it is just pictures of rubbish haha...

These are the few I took on my phone; I think my favourite thing about this house is the way the the cars have become part of the landscape and the brambles have grown into the cars. The blue car at the back was last taxed in 2001 and is a 1980's Jaguar XJ6...

By the looks of things the person who lived here was a hoarder, overall I counted 8 cars all in different states but most past the point of repair, which is a shame because some of them were beautiful.

    IMG_9415.JPG

The next time I drove past there were trucks there removing some of the cars so I decided to go back with my camera before it was too late...
    IMG_0145.JPG

This was the only remaining car at the front (apart from the one in the garage) and was last taxed in 1983, this is a 1960's Rover

    IMG_0147.JPG

This was the only way in, the sheer amount of rubbish in the house made it extremely difficult to walk anywhere, how someone lived in a house in such a state and has so much sh*t is beyond me...

    IMG_0152.JPG

Inside the garage there was yet another car, and what a surprise, more rubbish.. IMG_0155.JPG
    IMG_0156.JPG

Every single one of those bags were filled with bottles of 'Old Jamaica' ginger beer, this person/couple seem to have collected every piece of rubbish they have ever owned in their lives and kept in it organisd piles, every area of the house was filled with clusters of bottles or cans...weird. IMG_0158.JPG
    IMG_0159.JPG

It was so dirty inside, but clear somebody lived here with the only accessible items being a bath tub, microwave and cutlery/mugs etc...
    IMG_0163.JPG
    IMG_0165.JPG

This was the only room where you could properly see the floor, this bedroom was tidy (in comparison to the rest of the house) decorated with plants, a dressing table, complete with a hairbrush (cuttings of hair ew), rollers and makeup. I feel like this may have been an elderly couple living here, perhaps the male died and left the woman alone until she died and no immediate family came to clear the house? Or just a woman who liked cars, who knows. I found a diary and the last entry was in 2001. IMG_0166.JPG

The clothes were almost perfectly clean...and very old fashioned for someone living there in 2001. I absolutely loved looking round, I wish I could figure out who lived here and know some history about the place and the cirumstances of the people living there...

    IMG_0170.JPG

The draws were all still filled with personal items such as photographs and cards, if I spent a bit more time there i'm sure i'd be able to find a name for who lived there...
    IMG_0171.JPG
    IMG_0172.JPG

All the male clothes were hung in the bathroom, on the staircase and in the other bedroom, which was not accessible as the room was literally filled to hip level with books (see the photo below), all the owners manuals for the cars outside were in there and there was a wardrobe filled with pristine full 3 piece suits.
    IMG_0174.JPG
    IMG_0176.JPG

Even the windows have been left unclosed...and there were full and half full bottles of alcohol lying around everywhere
    IMG_9691.JPG

And just another car that we found...I bet there would be some really cool things inside if you were to properly rummage around. Such a weird find and in the middle of the countryside so not been visited before as far as I can tell. Also the electric still works inside the house? Who's paying the bills for that...

    Thanks for reading!!!

Nice report, I like it. Great little find, it looks like there's a lot to see in there. Like someone said above, I always feel a bit weird in places like this, but fascinated at the same time.

Looking forward to seeing what else you find out there :thumb

what an excellent report n pics @CGGE , them old rover cars are some of my favourite , the one outside was a rover p5 like what was used by maggie thatcher when she became PM , and the one in the garage is a rover p6 , both expensive luxury cars !

Wow, that's pretty incredible. The cars have gone now which is a great shame as I fear they may have been scrapped as they were in an awful state. I just wish places like this could be protected in a little bubble as a reminder of the past. Thanks for the feedback!
