    Hello all.

A few months ago back I put up a post about an abandoned railway station that is near where I live:

I said in the post that I would pay it a visit, and since I needed to test my new camera – I finally got around to it.

Getting in was a bit tricky – as the rather solid fence:

Had a few gaps in it, just large enough for me to squeeze through:

The station was rather disappointing – I was hoping for old railway wagons, goods sheds, etc. All that was left of the station was the platforms, and some iron railings.

On the plus side my camera worked perfectly!
I can now use it for a couple of other, more spectacular sites I have had my eye on for a while.

Anyway, here are the best of the photos for anyone who is interested:

I must be strange in the fact that I find abandoned railway sites (stations, signal boxes, etc) fascinating, and could happily spend all day poking around them!

As luck would have it I was thumbing through a local history book, and I found some photos of the station when it was in full swing as a passenger station in the sixties:

Makes for an interesting contrast. :)
