    The Grade II listed theatre was designed by the architect W. C. Fenton, with a seating capacity of 1,350 it opened in 1920.

    Restoration and redecoration in the late 1930s and more renovation in 1946 following bomb damage during the War.

    1976 brought the last film screening.

    The Adelphi closed in 1990s after being used as a bingo hall. It was then converted into a nightclub but closed its doors for the last time in 2006.

    The last time i was here Kitty set the alarm off so it was good to finally see inside, although it wasn't as impressive as i'd hoped.
