Walking past this building a couple of months ago I was going to have a poke around with a friend, but I heard some noises that sounded like they were coming from inside so we naturally pussied out. Looks like access might be easy - anyone ever had a look?

"Greenbank is a former country house to the south of Chester, Cheshire, England. It was built in 1820 for John Swarbreck Rogers, a local glove manufacturer and mayor of Chester. From 1907 the house was occupied by Peter Jones, an Ellesmere Port businessman. He was a patron of the fine arts, who commissioned work from artists, and collected 18th-century furniture. In 1923 a doorway and a separate gatehouse were added, designed by C. H. Reilly. The building was converted into a college in about 1980. It is a stuccoed, flat-roofed building in two storeys with seven bays. The central three bays have a parapet higher than the others, giant pilasters, and panels decorated with garlands above tall windows. The architectural historian Nikolaus Pevsner describes it as "one of the best Georgian houses of Chester". The house has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building."

Different section - looks very easy to climb over

I think it was boarded up when I went past but I imagine there's probably an access point somewhere, considering I thought I heard some people inside. Anyone fancy a look around?

Had a look round today when I went past on my bike. Everything seemed well sealed up, got quite a few exterior shots though.

I know this is possibly 2-3 years too late but I spent practically most of my teenage summer there 2012/13, it's such a beautiful building
Access used to be quite simple but then the police started to crack down on us, being a bunch of 13-14 year olds we got away with trespassing. They then boarded up the place because we kept going back, but we used to take screwdrivers and unscrew the boards and get in hehe. But they eventually put metal boards over the front and ruined it for us, apparently there was asbestos in there but I don't have a clue. Never once bumped into anybody else there, it was just our lot really.

But if we were noisy or got spotted climbing into the grounds we had a couple of run ins with locals, they were never too happy. Had one man try to run me over which wasn't great haha.

Sadly or perhaps for the better its now being renovated into flats, which I suppose stops it from being demolished. If you look on this website there are pretty cool pictures of the interior from the 1920s http://www.schemeglobal.co.uk/greenback-chester/gallery/

Did anybody go to the ex war bunkers in Handbridge? They were accessible during 2012-13 aswell.

I've got some really cool photos from Alcatraz in San Fran, would they be any good to put up? I know it's in America, but they opened up a section of the old hospital which was totally run down but had all the beds and stuff left in??
