Managed to get a look around this place just before they pulled it down.

The church was first built in 1897 and redeveloped in 1923 to accommodate a substantial growth in the congregation. The rear hall’s were built in two stages in 1968 and 1973. The whole site is being demolished to make way for a new church and to make better use of the ground area. I’ve seen the plans for the new church its all glass and steel, hope it will fit in ok.

Architecturally not to inspiring but interesting all the same.

Main hall, note the walk in font.

    Looking Back

    Had to be done

Someone had tried to remove the cross, broken it and just left it on the side. I’m not religious but thought that was in bad taste.

    Small hall at the rear

    Reception area

There were loads of small room dotted here and there some still with lots for furniture. Nothing underground though:(

This place has gone now but I managed to get lots of photos.
