    Barnes Hospital was built in 1869 as convalescent hospital. During the second world war like many hospitals, it was used to treat wounded military personnel. The hospital then became mainly used for geriatric and stroke victim care and closed in 1999. Afterwards it housed Kosovan refugees before featuring on Most Haunted...

    The site has been stripped for conversion which appears to have ground to a halt. One good result of this is that most of the combustable material has been removed.
