    Target Details:
Baron Hill is an estate in Beaumaris, Anglesey, Wales, named after the hill on which it stands. It was established in 1618 by Sir Richard Bulkeley as the family seat of the influential Bulkeley family.
During the English Civil War, Richard's successor, Colonel Thomas Bulkeley, is said to have invited King Charles I to take possession of the house and set up his court there.
In the eighteenth century the house was the seat of Lord Viscount Bulkeley, who maintained Jacobite sympathies. The Neo-Palladian style is obvious from the curved facade of the building to the terraces, follies and balconies; this was the style adopted during the 1776 reconstruction of the mansion by architect Samuel Wyatt. However, the mansion was originally built in 1618. There is also an icehouse in the gardens and a lodge house.
DuringWorld War I, death duties soaked up the family fortune and made it impossible for the family (by then calledWilliams-Bulkeley) to continue to maintain the house. In World War IItheRoyal Engineerswere stationed at the house. It was later damaged by fire, but the shell of the house survives.Sir Richard Williams-Bulkeley lives at neighbouring Red Hill. In the nineteenth century the occupants of Baron Hill remained the dominant Anglesey landowners, possessing estate also at Llanfairfechan and other parts of Caernarfonshire.
In August 2008, plans were submitted to restore the house and turn it into luxury apartments.

    Mission Details:
So following the amazing sunrise on the mini North Wales tour, we made a move to the mansion at baron hill. Having been here before, we managed to get round as quickly as possible, the last time we were here we spent a good hour alone attempting to locate the Colonnade! This place even the second time around was a treat to get round, at times the light was too intense if anything. This place is like a jungle now but has some real good features left, and a more modern reference to game of thrones. Fairly pleased with the video from this one. After this we nipped over to the bomb store at Llanberis, it was sadly sealed, so no report - but theres some time lapse footage from there at the bottom of the page.

We also nipped over to the bomb store at Llanberis, sadly it was sealed but I got a bit of practice with some time lapse.

Bloody Hell there"s enough "Vivid Greenery" there for your 5 a day ;)

It certainly must have been impressive site in it"s day, and the views over the fields to the sea would have been epic. Pity that you can"t see now for the rain forest that encompasses it all :(

I kept expecting Chimps to swing through the building dodging the falling roof timbers while i contemplated climbing those stairs

And shock  somebodies finally padlocked the Bomb store after the school holidays eh ??

Bit far gone for Six's tastes, but I do like a good ruinous manor house! Good work.

yeh, its mega overgrown - shiny green in places. Love the greenhouse, has a real resident evil effect about it. Amused us to see HODOR carved into the wall, clearly a recent addition ;-)

the bomb store was a long shot as we were in the area and for the mission of getting down into it, a bit gutted not to have gotten in, but yep the padlocks looked very shiny and new ;-)

    Awesome pictures and videos!

I went there not long ago and stumbled across the old gatehouse just to the south at the bridge trying to find a way to get to the mansion. I literally didn't even know where the bridge was it was that overgrown. Turns out I was standing on top of it! Didn't get to the mansion on that occasion but looking at your pictures it looks awesome and worth another shot.

That looks great - I visited Beumaris a few years ago. If I knew this was there I perhaps would've had myself a little solo mooch. Good work.

I have attempted to find the mansion but had no luck! Don't know my way around beaumaris well and didn't know which turning it took but wasn't the one we took was looking for around 2 hours.

It sounds more like Urbex Natural Selection at work :D

Why can"t you just type Baron Hill Mansion Beaumaris into a Search Engine or look on Google Earth

You will not see it from the road as it"s so overgrown. Only one of the old Gatehouses ? is visible as you drive under an old bridge that accessed the Mansion.

Beaumaris Castle is easier to find ;)
