Built in the late 1800s as a sanatorium for Berlin workers, it was converted to a military hospital at the beginning of WW1. Adolf Hitler stayed here during October and November of 1916 after being wounded at the Battle of the Somme. He stated his opinion of his stay here in Mein Kampf (hint: he wasn't keen). In 1945 the Red Army took it over and remained here until 1995.

I tried to avoid as much as possible the 'usual' shots of Beelitz that I see posted most weeks. I should also invest in a tripod.

The view from a building close to the railway station:

Newspapers cover the walls in much the same way they do in Krampnitz and Vogelsang:

Some sort of single stage compressor/pump:

Quite nice ironwork on the staircases:

Soviet soldier with his pink shoes (also notice the vase of flowers):

In the footsteps of Hitler (maybe):

    Love the architectural styling:

    More nice architecture:

I fancied a walk across here but it was too soft:

Nice explore, pretty cold though. Would be good to revisit in the summer.
