I don't know if this would be of any interest to people, or even if exploring it is a possibility.

I pass this hotel everyday on the way to take my little ones to nursery and school and was really surprised that at the end of the season it was always full of people and a busy hotel, so I was then curious as to why it had all be emptied out of all the bedding and rapidly boarded up. I did a bit of Google research to find out that the owner of the 100 room hotel had retired at the end of 2013 and had the hotel up for sale at a reduced price of £5.2 Million!

I reckon this place would be great for some exploring, although maybe it is still early days and the security might still be too good to actually get in there.

    What do people think?

Yes. I was bit shocked too, as the hotel was really busy last year! So many hotels & pubs have closed in Bournemouth.

Okay so went for a little explore today. Access into the courtyard is easy enough, though there is evidence of tramps sleeping outside in the sheltered walkways. Most areas are shuttered off - I think that one of the fire escapes had the metal sheeting bent back, so possible entry, but my concern is that it may be a bit of a homeless haven.
We walked around most of the courtyard when we must have tripped a motion sensor - A robotic voice told us that "our presence was being recorded", so we made a hasty getaway and perhaps we will have to return with more care at a later date.

Not sure if it'll be worth it though - anyone else made any headway with this one?

I've not got out the car to have a look but I suspect it is well and truly locked tight, given the location. It would also be a prime spot for homeless people I would imagine.

I can't imagine there being much of interest inside to look at, it probably just looks like it did when it closed down a few months ago, I expect the old Dormy Hotel was a bit more interesting until it was recently knocked down.

Dormy was fantastic, a proper good explore that because it was very easy and they had a lot of variety - a pool, a restaurant, large kitchen area, a theatre and the honeymoon suites! Real shame that they knocked that one down. Never did a report on it because by the time I'd gotten round to making one, there was already a couple more.

Hehe I also triggered the robotic voice when I was visiting in the summer, think it said the police have been called so i didn't hang around for long. Seemed locked up pretty tight to me and could be shite inside but it's a big old place so ya never know

Yeah, it's not the end of the world really, I kind of feel that a fairly newly closed place like that won't be particularly interesting to explore. No real character to it. Dormy was always far more interesting, you could see how much the place had deteriorated and that was pretty awesome.

After the fire today the building is likely to be unsafe. Too many homeless prior to today to make it a safe explore. It is due to be knocked down soon in any case as it's been bought for redevelopment of the land.
