    Looks the dogs bollocks dosen't it ?

    2,500 employed there so no small operation.

    Only downside (that I can see) is that they had a 'closing of the shaft' ceremony just before Christmas. Not sure if the Germans version of closing of the shaft is the same as the CA version...

    This place employed 2,500 to produce 2.5 million tonnes per year.

    Germany is apparently down to something like two coal mines. Prosper-Haniel and Ibbenburen. In UK we have five; shortly to be four.

    Incorrect, it will take over a year for them to retrieve all underground machinery before they cap it, they also may use the shafts to produce gas for power generation just like at zeche Walsum. So the shaft atleast will be uncapped for a while yet.
