Hi, there's a viaduct at conisbrough near doncaster that's a good 40ft higher than that. I think there's a video or 2 of folk abseiling down it on youtube. Just thought you might fancy a bash at that one like. Not me though, scared of heights lol.

Tie a weight to one end, and throw it really f*cking hard, I'd expect.

Abseil down one side of the bridge, have someone drop one end of a rope down from the opposite side, tie this to the abseil rope and the person on the bridge hauls the rope up. Tie both ends together and you have created a loop around the bridge, add a Krab to the loop and attach your rope from the swing to it and you can then proceed to pull it under the bridge!

    Looks fun -

quick cautionary tale - years back we used to do the same off a bridge (similar height) in Warwickshire.

We too rigged in a similar way, with the ropes across the span - great until some prat green laneing in daddys 4x4 twatted his way across the bridge at speed.

Wrecked quite a bit of kit - thankfully no-one over the side at the time - oh, and did one hell of a lot of damage to pa-pa's beloved 4 x 4

Im with you! So actually if you cut out the abseiling part, you could just drop a length of something cheaper like paracord from each side, tie together at the bottom, walk back up, and tie the ends at the top together to create a loop round the bridge with paracord, and just use that to pull your rope under?

You would need a fair few metres of paracord but yes you could. :thumb

On a serious note. As Scot states in the other thread, if you aint confident in what you are doing then don't take the risk.

Get it wrong and its "half a day out with the undertaker" as good old Fred Dibnah used to say.:D
