Been going back through some of my old photos that i had never got around to sorting out properly and found these from nearly 2 years ago. This was my one and only (successful) visit to Cellophane but i must say it has to be one of the best industrial locations we have ever seen in this country. It had size, it had age and it was amazingly intact. As far as i know some parts were demolished not long after this visit but im unsure exactly what remains today.

I never did get to see the turbines :(

While I admire the trip, I can add a little history to the factory.
There was a leak from the factory that covered cars in town with a substance and destroyed paint- cellophane paid for resprays.

Also the "Bridgwater stink" came from the cellophane factory and the sewer system at times

There is a very small part left, but 95% of plant, car park and offices demolished.
New access road cameras and high chance of being caught for little to see

A few years ago I was taking HGV lessons in Carlisle. Heavy overcast weather keeping the smell from Wigton close to the ground. Oh God it felt like home. You don't appreciate that blend of H2S and CS2 until it is gone.

Still one of the all-time greats this. Celanese came close but this one had so much more stuff left as well as character. The labs and offices were an explore in their own right!
