Over the weekend I took a visit to Berry Head, not expecting to come across a ROC post, I've wanted to visit a ROC post for a while.
This is my first post please go easy on me!

    This post is LOCKED
    Date of visit 11/1/15

The post looks in excellent condition externally, from a picture I seen inside the information centre (the post is within a National Trust area) inside the post looks to be in good condition as well however I cannot confirm this. The chap in the information centre did say that the post does open on the very rare and important occasions E.G the anniversary of the cold war.

Very nice photos! Wish I could take photos like those.

Must be gutting to find it locked, so I have done a little bit of research for you. I'm afraid it looks as if most ROC posts in South Devon are demolished with no trace left behind. But it looks at if there is an open and unlocked ROC post at Teignmouth and another one at Whitestone. If you don't know how to find the grid references then give me a PM.

Neil, Its nice to see it in a fairly good condition, shame about your photos would of loved to see them, I did ask in the information centre about going in to have a look but the answer was a blank no. Apparently when it is opened they only place a mirror at the bottom of the shaft looking into the monitoring room, I may try and find some contact details for the owners (how would I find this?) and see about having a mooch.

Those are cracking shots, hope to see more like that from the area. Have you been to the nearby ROTOR/Regional seat of government bunker?

If you can get in it certainly is. Even if you can't but you like the cold war stuff I'd say its still worth the drive - it's Kingsbridge kind of area.
