1st post here, 1st explore too.

This site has been due for closure for some time now, to be demolished and turned into a "residential village". With the current economic climate though, this is showing no signs of happening in the next few years.

The entire place is covered in a thick layer of soda-ash, which has the texture of flour and gets absolutely everywhere! Lens changes outside only on this one.

This site is still operational, although much reduced in activity since its heyday.

Scary times at the top of the silos, but the view was amazing, with the ability to see the Anderton boat lift, and Jodrell Bank in the far distance.

    Anyway. Enjoy!

#2: Broken Glass. The front of this can be seen from the road over the river.

#3: Staff Room. Long since abandoned....

#4: Top of the silo looking back towards the building balanced precariously on top of it.

#5: And the stairs down inside the silo.

#6: A rusty old ammeter covered in ash.

#7: Save Him... Considering getting a T-shirt with this printed...

#8: This is the entrance to the old mini-hospital on site. Inside is just rubble.

    #9: Don't Do it!

    #10: Conveyor belt...

#11: Living in the 80's. Not happy with the exposure on this...

I'm still working on processing more images at my Flickr site so feel free to periodically check back there for more shots.
