    This place is so weird... and amazing!
    It's an abandoned mine in Germany; Zeche Hugo.

    I heard two different story about the cages...
    Number one:workers took the cages (with birds in it) with them into the mines. The birds warned them for danger and gases.
    Number two: The workers put their clothes in the cages in the morning and lifted them up. In the evening people could see exactly who came back out of the shafts and who didn't, because their cages were still up.

    Don't realy know if any of these stories is true, but it sounds reasonable.
