Calcott Hall is a Grade II listed building, listed in January 1953 and has been listed on the buildings at risk register since 2012 by Powys County Council. It is near the town of Llanymynech which straddles the Welsh/English border.

It was a home to a dairy farm built in 1725. The four bed roomed Hall has been empty since the last owner died in the 1970s.

    The visit

This was my Valentines day adventure. I had planned to go here during the week, after someone sent me a link to some older pictures.
It was a typical Welsh day for weather, a blanket of grey white cloud. I went on my own, and there were a bunch of kids playing near by and the road was busy with farm traffic. Everyone seemed to ignore me, so I just leisurely took pictures and roamed the farm.
There looks to be less items in here than in previous reports, and things have been moved around. Some floors were collapsed but the inside is mostly dry. The stairs were in good condition and there was no smell inside.

(to save me uploading every pic individually to each site I use I have tried to add them here a different way to how I have been...if it works, great!

Think you should add some more pics from your extensive collection onto these above mate, would make it better IMO :thumb

Looks like you had free rein around the whole site unhindered by people or Cows & Bull in my case lol

Certainly altered over the last year to say the least. Nice to see they eventually made an effort to seal the back door, so they"ve now used the front instead  And someones emptied the Bath a little, by rights that should be downstairs by now with the state that wooden floor was in ;)

I added a few more, I'm happy to add loads but I wasn't sure on what is OK, or what is too many?

There was a cow/bull roaming about. Luckily, or maybe not(?), I lived in Mid Wales for 15 years so I'm used to farm animals now.

Speaking of FAQs have they changed or something? Was sure showing pics that show access into the building aren't allowed :confused Not trying to have a go or anything, just sayin.

Some decent pics though & yeah that bath looks grim, even i wouldn't bathe in that lol.

According to dvla the second marina has only been off the road since 2007. First one hasn't been taxed since 1985.

The photos need to be resized for the forum though as they are far too big, max size of the photos should be no bigger than 1024 * 768 :thumb

I visited the hall yesterday, having done some previous research and now living locally. Post-visit, I trawled for more information and photographs uploaded by others, and received a goosebump-inducing shock: the school photograph...... with my mother in it!! That freaked me out. Over all, a fantastic explore :-)
