only been 1 report in the past few years so thought i'd add a brief one.

    Caldwell House / Hospital.

Originally built around 1770 as a mansionhouse (seems a bit early?)

In 1927 the Govan Health Board bought it and it was converted into childrens home/hospital with an extension built on the side for boiler house/laundry/kitchens etc.

1985 it closes and returns to private ownership and since then has been in disrepair, with a few fires in the 90s not helping!

Basically a roofless shell of a building now.

parked at main road / gate and walked in. As soon as we arrived a G4S security car passed us. Was expecting a word but they drove onto the house. Seemed to just be doing a scheduled drive-by check up.

Easy access, lots of fencing but mostly down.

    holes in floors (basement below)

    remains of lift shaft

basement corridor - loose brickwork in arched ceiling providing shafts of light from above

entry from "newer" extended laundry/boiler building

    that should do the job!

Worth a visit, but be weary of falling stonework. Nothing major when we were there but wouldnt go on a windy day!

Didnt bump into anyone but lots of signs of life around about (rubbish piles / animal feeds etc)

Theres also a nearby house enroute and various small buildings at entrance which a worth a visit if its dry.

Anyway, hope this isnt too photo heavy.

That's what you call derelict . These buildings soon fall into bad disrepair when not occupied..
