There are 100 reasons why I think the Hill is the best UK asylum. I have not been in the mighty place for near a year and was well overdue a visit. So before the morning light myself, Turk and the Riddlers ventured inside. The chapel still blows me away, as does the mortuary and art room. Good to see the little things that I have always loved so much still in place, like the hospital grade fly killer in the mortuary and the manakin in the top to toe window. Cleaning the ward up was a right laugh. At first we were just putting the beds back, but before you knew it we were putting fresh pillow cases and bed linen on and re-instating the patient's cupboards!
I never realised how much of the hospital lies in ruins, and there is more to come. We noticed several corridor sections that are hanging by a thread, and that will make navigation harder in the future...
The laundry is still amazing, I love the antiquated pressing machines, and the mighty steam rollers, once used for pressing bed sheets. No clock tower this time, but I do love climbing up there. It was looking really worse for wear actually, if something is not done soon I think it's lead dome's days are numbered...
Fantastic explore, and great to have some good snaps of the place at last!!
