Just returned from a trip to Pembrokeshire. Decided to look at my former regiment at Cawdor Barracks, located about halfway between Haverfordwest and St. Davids near to Newgale beach.

Just outside the main entrance to Cawdor Barracks and to the north of the dead end road that leads to the barracks is the boarded up "Brawdy Lanes" - a bowling alley and social club for soldiers of the barracks. I am guessing by the weeds growing in the car park that it has been closed for a few years. It looks doable. Would have done it myself if I hadn't have had my elderly parents in the car.

Be careful it's only about 100 metres from the main entrance to the army camp which has sentries and MGS (Military Guard Service) and the road leading to the army camp is a dead end, so would cause suspicion if you drove down it. But I think Brawdy Lanes is doable if the car is parked some distance away (best park in the small country lane heading north just before Brawdy lanes that's leads to a caravan site).

On Google Earth is shows clearly as an isolated building surrounded by a car park just before the main camp.

Would love to see a report. Thanks.

PS there's a church in Barn Street, Haverfordwest that is boarded up... but a very obvious way in.

Still of things Pembrokeshire - a new lifeboat station is being built at St Justinians, a couple of miles down a country lane west of St Davids. There's a crane here that is dead easy to do with wonderful views looking across to the RSPB reserve of Ramsey Island and also along the scenic coastline to St David's head.

Where else can you find a crane in the middle of the countryside with nobody to notice you going up (as long as they not working on the building site). Very easy. My first crane by the way.
