First report on the forum, been on the Facebook group a while now so its about time I did.

So lets start with something recent. This was the last destination of a 600 mile round trip of mostly sites I've been wanting to do for a while know. To say its a small building tucked away next to the river ( could hardly see it with all the overgrowth ) it has some of the best mechanical belt driven machines I've seen to date.

Some history, built in 1840's / 50's by the Morris family. Water-wheel dated 1891 to provide electricity to the mill Mr Morris stated he could provide electricity to houses and the chapel in Tal-y-Bont so they were the first rural village in Cardiganshire/Ceredigion to have any form of electricity.
To meet the increasing demand for electricity a peloton wheel was purchased and placed at the other end of the factory to add to the power generated by the main wheel.
The factory produced cloth and flannel mainly for farmers and miners, profits suffered during the war and having competition with much larger factories in the area with newer modern machinery they turned to selling to the public to try help boost profits but eventually closed in 1962.
Supposedly the current owner tried to pass the property and machinery to the National Trust to be preserved but the owner lacked the funding to restore/repair the mill so the National Trust were unable to take the property. Such a shame really because the building is still in great shape compared to others I've been in and the machinery is just magnificent :)

    On with some photos.
