First report so play nice :)

Not quite sure on the history of this place, but there is plenty that I read up on in previous reports that I'm sure hasn't changed in the last two months.

    The Explore:

Myself and a friend left for Chartham early afternoon just after work, despite a breakdown on the way there which may have been seen as a sign, we carried on down a country lane which led to a housing estate. Although I had anticipated this, I had no idea how remote this estate actually was. I knew we were close and after a quick apple maps check we were just down the road. It took some time to find the main building especially as it's summer and the vegetation mostly disrupts the view (this led to momentary disappointment when we found a new play park where the building was supposed to be, this was just a navigation error as then saw the tips of older buildings peak the trees lining the footpath)

Entrance to the main courtyard was simple enough, the fence was broken and we slipped straight passed the signposts. Entrance into the main building looked pretty difficult to figure out, immediately we found a broken window not boarded up like every (and I mean EVERY) other window and door on the main building. We still followed standard procedure and walked the perimeter of the building for another entrance, and although we came across a couple of beaten boards, it would've been too dangerous to have broken these down. I must mention at this point that we stumbled across a group of 7 or 8 young lads from the estate who were there to do whatever 14 year old boys do, so be aware of other people that may be on the site. From this angle of the site, we really got a sense of how much there was to explore when we saw three more buildings looming on the horizon which were to be explored towards the end of our adventure.

We eventually went back the first window (And being honest, we wouldn't have got a cat through it) and broke the remaining panes through with bricks on the floor, and it was worth the cuts bruises and broken windows. Once in, it was nothing special, the usual vandalised decrepit and empty rooms but looking further into the building was the main corridor which left my face beaming with joy, never before had I seen such an extensive feasible to explore interior. As I just mentioned, there's only what you'd expect to find inside these rooms so I won't go into detail. What stood out to us however, was how much there actually was inside, what I liked the most was the rooftop access from the courtyard. This elevated view gave us both a very zombie apocalypse feel which I'm sure we all seek on this website! Juxtaposed to this was the sewer pipe access; at regular intervals were holes in the floor about 4 feet deep, I decided to go against sane thinking and delved inside, and just like up above was a network of space to explore.

The other buildings were very similar, except a massive basketball court was accessible which was pretty cool.

Go there soon as this entrance we made is bound to be there for at least a month, whilst we were there another pair of explorers thanked us for opening this up, so it seems people have been trying for a while

All in all, the solitary hilltop location overlooking the Chartham Downs, leaves the buildings exposed and lonely. This, to me is the cherry on top of this extensive site, albeit run down, and has left me wanting to go back there again for a revisit and a chance to refine my photographs... And on that note:

I would advise editing out the access details here, particularly the parts about breaking in. Just bare in mind this is an open forum that anyone has access to, including land owners, security, the police etc.

Yeah mate I wouldn't be going on about "opening it up"/breaking & entering on an open forum, know you only smashed a bit of glass but if someone wanted to get technical then you have broken in rather than found a way in. I wouldn't condone breaking in to anywhere for legal reasons and I think finding a way in is part of the fun, leave the making access points to the kids & chavs ;)

This site now has new owners. Spent last weeek boarding all the doors and windows up again and replacing the security fences. This will be a weekly thing now (as kids still breaking in) until it is demolished, all the buildings are riddled with lead paint and asbestos so be very carefull if you pay it a visit.

Hi i went here recently and traveled 60 miles to get here and there was security at the main gate, so we didn't try and get in, is there actually a way into this place without getting caught (or a day when the security isn't there) I am a you tuber and have been wanting to shoot a video here for some time now, thank you

I think security is there now 24/7, sometimes with dogs. Also we go back to repair any boarding and fencing that has got damaged weekly. Owners hoping to have it demolished by March.
