Broke into the world of "urbex" after years of seeing photos of other peoples explores, with the abandoned North London Line between the Connaught Passage and North Woolwich.

Although I'm certain everyone on here knows the history, I'll make it brief.

The line was last run as part of the North London Line, the rest of which is now part of the London Overground network. It was closed in 2006 when the DLR opened a paralleling route past London City Airport. After decaying for the last 5 years, the tunnel and most of the route are being redeveloped into part of the Crossrail service, running across central London, with work on the tunnel itself starting just days after this visit.

Started at Silvertown, the station is pretty overgrown, and has some torn up track leaning against the platform in places.

"I'd give up, mate, it's not coming"

Inside the prefab station building - lesson learned, bring tripod!

Unfortunately the 5D doesn't come with a built in flash, so this is the best from the tunnel.
