After ruffling feathers at RAF Greenham we decided the workmen we had previously spotted at Crookham must be gone now, and headed back. Only to find one guy doing some work to the steps outside. This seems odd, as the manor house is being demolished, which I find almost unbelievable as I would have bet money on it being listed. Anyway, the dilemma.. Do we speak to the possibly pointless stone mason? Do we sneak around within about 10 meters of him and try our luck? We opted for the latter - it paid off.

Suffice to say I think this will probably be the last report here. It's almost completly demo'd, which is a shame.

The house was built in the 1870s to replace another one which burned down on the same site. The manor eventually became Crookham Court school. It was revealed that young boys were molested by teachers here, and the school closed down in the late 80s, becoming vacant in 2007. I can't seem to find what it was used as in the interim, however. On with the report!

Atop a pile of bricks, we hatched our plans.

Don't ask why, I just really wanted this shot.

I really like this blue, I'd probably get it colourmatched if I didn't reckon I would think "sex abuse" every time I saw it.

As we left we found two trees fallen next to each other, some absoloute legend has created this little walk out of it. Was a nice way to exit...

And so concludes Xexxa's July trilogy.

    Hope you enjoyed!

Oh my gosh, what a shame! I visited here a few times and always loved it (it was very photogenic).
It was split up into flats once it ceased being a school from what I can remember.

Does the old guy still live in the little house at the top of the drive? He caught me once and shouted at me but I talked him round and he invited me into his house for a cup of tea and played piano for me. Legend.

Probably for the best with the history of this place, shame as it was a stunning building back then.
