Denbigh is huge, but in a very poor state. We were there for about 5 hours, at least 4 of which was spent playing "Will this take my weight?" - simple rules but potentially major forfeits ;)

A small snippet of the history which has been covered extensively elsewhere...

The building of Denbigh Lunatic Asylum started in 1844, was completed four years later and opened on the 14th November 1848. It originally housed 200 patients, but was extended several times until eventually being able to house 1500.

The Grade II listed buildings were eventually closed in 1995, and in 2008 work begun to convert the buildings into apartments. However work stopped when the main hall caught fire and has remained untouched since.

The second set of scales - I couldn't get the first too well because my lens wasn't wide enough. It's for the weigh bridge, I'll add a pic if I can sew several together successfully.

Then we went up to see the colapsed floor from above. If this gives way we're falling from the secodn floor to the ground and potentially the basement...

Then there's the fire damaged entranceway.
