For generations of Derby's louts, drunkards and other ne'er do wells "spending the night in Full Street" was a familiar phrase. Derby Police Station and Magistrates Court was built in the 1930s as part of a larger riverside development scheme designed by the borough architect Charles Aslin.

In 1966 an extension was built, which became the Police Station while the 1930s part became a dedicated magistrates court.

The entire complex closed in 2002, the listed 1930s building has been well maintained and looked after whilst the 1960s part has deteriorated quite badly. That said both had some interest.

The extension - other then some rooftop views the only really interesting feature was the WB1400 sitting forgotten in a dark corner, which from reading recent reports has since gone.
