    Hey 28DL,

This is my first post here, so don't be too harsh on me xD

There's a great asylum near me which shut down all its wards in 2007, and is due for demolition sometime soon. It has various buildings, and an incredible grounds. There's a pathway leading from the top (Grand Avenue) to the bottom (Woodside Avenue) which is frequently used by pedestrians as a shortcut, which may make entering it, or at least exploring it easy. One of the newer buildings, at the bottom near Woodside Avenue is still in use, but coming from the top entrance, all the buildings are boarded off.

I tried to go there to get some photos on Sunday evening, but within minutes we were told to leave by a guard. We came back a few minutes later, and hid behind a structure further in, but a few minutes later 2 guards came and told us to leave. Security definitely seems high, but then again, we are definitely urbex-noobs. I'm sure some more experienced members will be able to pull this off. It's really a beautiful grounds, with a lot of history.

I remember walking through a courtyard surrounded by inward facing buildings. The second floor had wire mesh around all the balconies, and the patients were off their heads, like something from a movie. Anyway just thought I'd give the community a heads-up on this, I couldn't do it, but I'd love to see it done by someone else :D

I have a feeling I know which one this is and am pretty sure I know someone who saw it last year. Not 100% though. Sounds like it's worth a look

The buildings here are really cool.. Like nothing I've seen in the UK before, with balconies with wire mesh over them running along the whole lengths of some of the buildings. I've been in one of the buildings there which is full of stuff but standard and boring all-in-all. The larger wards look like they have potential though, and there's table football too!

It's been properly boarded up in the last half-year so good luck and locals keep your eyes peeled for change!
