After the success of M'boro, sadly site 4 (one of 2 morgues) on the list was a fail also, so we moved onto the next one, the derp baths of durpham. Very dilapidated and featuring layer upon layer of grafitti, using some contrast we managed to get some useable photos... Wanting to do some baths for a bit, so it was nice to finally get in some...

    History>

When it opened on September 18, 1932, the Durham City Baths and Washhouses replaced an earlier peat-floored swimming pool that had a habit of turning the water a murky brown. And with a main pool measuring 75 feet by 30 feet, the modern complex was large enough to be used for competitions by the Amateur Swimming Association.

Durham City Baths and Washhouses finally closed in July 2008. Quickly overtaken by urban decay, the abandoned swimming pool was set to be demolished to make way for a housing development. But these plans fell through due to the recession, leaving the building to fall into complete dereliction.

Its sort of strange really the pool area is actually getting rather colourful these days albeit the rest of the site is generally a tip.

The swimming baths in my local area are shut, it would be interesting to see what they look like now. Love the 'No Boots' photo!

I myself have quite recently been in the baths, it was quite eerie and this image in particular gives me the chills
