After a visit to the Urshaw seminary and finding a very secured and inaccessible chapel, and also failing to reach the Urshaw seminary baths, we were needing some luck. So after failing the morgue the previous day, we headed up to the County hospital, which we had penciled for a while purely for the second morgue. After getting in to the site, we we mortified to see that this one also had been sealed, as this one has the flagship slab. Gutting as this was we did still explore the hospital...

    History>

County Hospital, Durham was a hospital in Durham City built in 1853 from public donations and subscriptions, until services were moved to Lanchester Road Hospital on the Earls House Hospital site on the outskirts of the city. The hospital was part of the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys Foundation Trust of the NHS and in its later years provided mental health care to people from North Durham area.

The site closed in 2010 following completion of the new £24 million Lanchester Road Hospital on the Earls House Hospital site. Since 2010 the site has remained vacant. In 2014 planning permission was sought to demolish extensions and return the main building back to its Victorian state and named "Viaduct Court". With a new building of a large block of halls on the South West side, it is proposed the site will house 440 students. The plans for the new building are being referred to as "New Hall".

Bit random sticking both sites together?

Did you try the barn nearby?

Barn: some of it looked occupied, and to be honest we were chasing light to get to the next site. Having not gotten into the chapel and the baths, we'll be going back sometime to do it in detail.

to be fair I should have saved the photos, for next time to make a better report - they would have been random with any other report ;-)

    best...

Part of the barn thing is occupied I think. There's a guy who checks the barn for people sneaking around. Not managed the baths either unfortunately, it's always been sealed :( The chapel is awesome though.

Haha, yes. That was a while ago. I didn't write that - that was one of the others I was with.

Deffo" better pictures on this report, well until the light lowers then the noise kills any detail you should still capture.
I would have thought whoever uses the camera would have learnt by now how to use it in low light situations ;)
