    Dyson ceramics factory

The Dyson Group, founded by John Dyson, opened their first factory in Sheffield in 1834 at the tail end of the Industrial Revolution, before later moving to this site. This once-thriving factory, owned by the northern brick company which helped to build Britain's industrial might. The deserted Dyson ceramics factory, which at its peak employed thousands of brickmakers. The factory closed its doors in 2006 and since then its contents have been left to rust.

Some nice atmospheric shots, particularly 1 & 4.

Funnily enough when I went here a couple of years ago I never made it in to the factory but did get in to the offices and I've never seen the offices feature since.

Cheers mate. We managed to get inside the offices but it was in a bad state. Looks like people had been sleeping inside. There was a few sleeping bags, make shift pillows and a few gas canisters. I have a few pictures on Flickr with some offices shots.

Four or five years ago that was a nice little explore - shame to see the stores so ruined, they were a nice rummage back then!

It baffles me that every so often they seem to re-start the demolition and then abandon the job again...
