    Re: Emley Moor tower Report!

    Finally got round to posting my pics. Not very good, mainly because it was a business meeting and the pictures were secondary. And I also lost the originals so these are from low res jpg's.

    The tower from the bottom;
    [IMG]

    Inside, looking up;
    [IMG]

    Showing the walkway around the top;
    [IMG]

    The villiage where we had lunch;
    [IMG]

    Looking straight down to the NTL premises;
    [IMG]

    Not sure what this town is, anyone know?
    [IMG]

    View up again, this time from one side;
    [IMG]

    Panoramic (sorry for the quality);
    [IMG]

    Emerging from the lift;
    [IMG]

    Dave Morgan (NTL) emerging from the lift;
    [IMG]

    Scale of the cables;
    [IMG]

    And finally, the transmitter network schematic;

    More surprised you got a reply to an 8 year old thread than the pics TBH

    They ought to open it up as an attraction. West Yorkshires answer to the Shard . A whole 360 panarama of Whippets & cloth caps lol

    And that restaurant is epic ;)

    Well as we're posting again about the tower, I love this shot I took before New Year 2012.

    Thanks - I've tried it and as you can see it doesn't work - a small icon with IMG next to it...?

    There would be no chance as its all barbed wired up. The only acces is via a security checkpoint and keys from the security guard to open the barbed wire fence. It's also alarmed now and have cctv everywhere. Plus you need a security card to use the lift now plus a code to get in the door. Even permission visits are now escorted.

    Remember when the original tower was brought down by ice and poor old Yorkshire television went off air after only being open for a few months. Great to see pictures from up top, cheers.
