Firth Vickers were a major name in Sheffield's steel empire, and perhaps best known for the invention of Stainless steel in 1912. They branded this 'Staybrite' which gives this works its name, however I'm not sure if it was invented here. My research into this site's history is pretty vague, despite much googling. The oldest building, namely the impressive power house probably dates back to the 19th century at the earliest, while others on site are clearly more modernist in design.

It's final use was for Aerospace metal manufacturers Allvac, whom left the site in 2005, that said a Haulage firm and nearby steel producer uses bits of the derelict land for storage. It's pretty stripped in parts, but there's still some good stuff lurking.
