Greenbank, Blackburn 2006

Not sure where to put this one, as it's part residential, part industrial, and some of it has since been demolished!

This is Greenbank, a festering, smelly, run down, filthy area, even by Blackburns standards. The wasteland was formerly a chenical works and has been empty for donkeys years. The area adjacent to it is a pet food factory and also adjacent is a slurry storage area. Over the canal is a sweet factory that belts out sickly sweet smells that form a stomach turning mix when combined with the pet food and slurry.

How the residents of those houses got by is anyones guess - probably why they knocked them down.

The Mill is Imperial Mill, I think it's actually a listed building, and isn't in bad condition. The ground floor is occupied, I think the top floors are vacant.
