Clabecq Foundry, Belgium 03/04/07

[Oxygen Thief]

Second trip for me, went back with Riddlers and Tank.

First, we took a look at the beginning of the process where the iron ore and coal / coke (?) were delivered. Here's a conveyor room used for shifting iron ore... note the colour of everything...

Next we looked at the building away from the main site, up the hill...

This has been disused for a long time, quite empty inside, however the stores and offices alongside the building were full of paperwork...

Came across a group of pikeys robbing the metal, but they were OK.

Then we went down to the main blast furnace...
