Visited with Disko Kitten and Riddlers.
...well I don't know what this was... part exploration and part infiltration. One minute it's closed down theatres, turn the corner, staff chatting in the laundry, turn a corner - closed A&E, leading into live hospital, with closed canteens and kitchens. Very strange.
We started in the operating theatres that were mint. I thought it would be difficult to beat the theatres at the West Middlesex Hospital, but these were just superb. The lights were still on and some of the instrumentation was still working. Took it all in and made our way to A&E. That was locked up, but as we were milling around, we found that the public were using the old hospital still as a route out of the new hospital (?). Disco gave an old chap a directional hand, and promptly sent him around the back of the hospital where he probably got mugged.
We walked down a very live corridor, passing patients and porters, and started to nose off into the side rooms, notably old kitchens and canteens. From the main corridor we couldn't get into any wards so we went outside and found a way in. Again, the condition of the rooms and equipment was superb. The hospital is so recently closed that some systems are still active, and where they have subsequently failed there's alarms going off all over the place. We had to get out pronto when we walked into oncoming unknown person in a closed ward.
