Hatfield Colliery, Doncaster - 30/04/06

Took a solo visit to Hatfield today...and what a fantastic place it is...ladders, gantries etc everywhere...conveyor belts to walk along, and it was a fantastic day aswell!

My target for the day was to climb the colliery headstocks..and this is what happened...I ended up climbing my first headstock!

A lot of the buildings seem to still be in use, they have lights on in them, and they seem to be some kind of workshops...people were in there today...

Yeah, its a brilliant afternoon out...I was in hull and I was thinking of just going home, instead I did this, the thorpe marsh power station and caught the last few bricks falling at the doncaster race track and exhibition centre...pics to follow...

yeah, east yorks needs a visit definately...

Was this one an easy one to do?

Not easy! but not really difficult...there are security patrols it seems but I hid from them...and the headstocks require you to be less than 16 stone really...I did make a meal of the climb...;)
