St Margaret's hospital, Great Barr

(This is the Lower Section of the hospital)

After driving round and round trying to get close, I finally found St Margaret's Church which has the best way down to the hospital, At first I went down the main closed off road (on foot) and came up to the lower mansion house, went round that and then got spooked by a few workers so decided to head back and come back on sunday when they might not be working.

So I went back to the church and noticed a building nearby under the crackling powerlines, so I took pics of that. I wandered down the path for a further view and stumbled upon this view...

Probably the biggest site of derelict buildings in the middle of nowhere I have ever seen.

Went along this Sunday, there was no site workers, one security guard in a porter cabin but he kept to himself. If it wasn't for 3 kids smashing up the place with iron bars, I would of stayed around to do more, but I didn't fancy getting my camera nicked. Will go back next sunday for sure, the place is HUGE. Asbestos galore though!!!

Some more pics from my latest visit on Sunday, had to battle through the 'jungle' of trees and bushes to evade being seen by contractors or security, was like something an SAS guy would do :). Ive also found out I can fit under those temporary metal fences......just lol.

There aint much to explore but Im gonna take a final visit in the next coming weeks, many buildings have been totally removed.
