ROC Group HQ No 12 - Lansdown, Bath - 1/09/07

Firstly thank you to the Avon Fire and Rescue service for allowing our visit today and to our guide from the fire brigade for his time and for all his knowledge on the site.

Visited today with DarkPrince, Sick, Rookinella and Sinnerman.

The Lansdown ROC HQ no 12 began as a Royal Artillery post war anti aircraft operations room. In 1959 it was taken over by the Royal Observer Corps. On stand down the site was taken over by the Avon Fire service and is now their command development centre.

Although nearly all of the evidence of its ROC days are now gone there are still bits and pieces to be found. They have also done an excellent job of still keeping and using the original fittings such as the plant room and air con systems.
