Visited with Will, Rookinella and her mate Matthew
Made for a nice layed back visit. No signs of any security at all!
We did the usal tour taking in some villas and wards, then progressed onto the x-ray department and operating theaters. Then to Engineering and the kitchens before finishing with a walk around the nurses home.
Unfortunatly i have some bad news, The (quite frankly awsome) boiler room is being stripped for scrap! the old hot water tanks have all completely gone and the side of the room they were in has had a big hole punched in it! 4 boilers are still intact but the little dumpy one on the end has been stripped and they are currently cutting it up with oxy-acetylene for scrap. There was a large skip outside and the ground was covered in scrap metal waiting to go in! I dont think it will stop there either i would suspect they they will remove all scrap metal from the site if they can do which could mean alot of damage.:(
Also we saw where the demolition of the hall had taken place, its not as bad as people would make out. They have gone through one of the corridors to get their machine in but otherwise its almost confinded to the bit tht was burnt out.
Excuse the pics, i was playing with my new phone and not with the real camera
