Sapping the Wapping, Liverpool - 23 Feb 08

Ok so the first offical sapping of the Wapping Tunnel in Liverpool. You can read more regarding the background to the Wapping Tunnel during a previous report here. (http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=26829&highlight=wapping)

That report shows a back filled passages leading off the main tunnel roughly under Hope St. We guestimated it to be here (http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=53.39938&lon=-2.972146&z=17.8&r=0&src=msl)

Chodjinn decided he wanted to go and see the tunnels and then with the purchase of a new folding trenching tool it soon became a mission to see if we could dig our way through the passage and expose what lay beyond!!!

I'll post these photos which demonstrate us getting into the tunnel and setting up. Chodjinn can enlighten you to what we found in a follow up with his own photos. Enjoy
