Had a quick recce at RAF Bempton on the yorkshire coast yesterday.

It was part of the ROTOR CHAIN radar during the cold war. on the surface a few single story concrete structures and a partialy demolished brick guard house. not very interesting at first glance. BUT. Underground there is quite a large bunker.see the following link:-

the site apears easy to get into. It is right next door to an RSPB reserve so being seen walking round with camera's tripods etc. is the norm. you can get onto the site from the coastal path & climbing over a waist high barbed wire fence. then accross open fields (maybee best at night) to the buildings at the top of the hill. watch out for the bovine security guards! this is private land and the farmer does not like visitors. i didn't get inside as i didn't have enough time. one for the future perhaps.
