This mine was in operation untill the 1980s.
Lead was origionaly mined then flourospar.
The main entrance is completly colappsed acess is by a 120 foot ventilation shaft
A complete underground winding system is still in place most of the mine is in good condition ,but a lot of the timber work is badly rotted.
Most of the mine workings are under water only the top acess tunnels remain

This is the point the shaft drops in to .I was talking to a local man who worked in this mine
this was the emergency exit only the bottom ladder remains

The only reason this place is still intact is the dificult acess .
If the entrance addit was open the scrap men would have a field day.
