Will the Manfrotto 718B Digi tripod accept Manfrotto ball heads?

Cheers,

Martin

Why would you want it to ?

I'm wanting to use my 718B on Sunday, but the head won't have arrived from Johnsons Photopia by then.

But the 718B comes with its own head ?

I don't have the head, that's why I'm asking!

"unlike most Manfrotto models, this tripod is pre-fitted with an unremovable head" sure you have a 718B?

I think what Sheikh could also do to know is whether the quick-release plate from a Manfrotto ball head (486RC2) will fit onto his 718B?

TIA

sure you have a 718B?

The following is wriiten on leg 3: "Manfrotto 718B-2424 DIGI". Have just had a look at the Manfrotto diagrams, and I'm missing the camera plate and the part which connects the camera plate to the rest of the tripod. The head isn't interchangeable.

You bought it like that ?

Yep, Curry's in Macclesfield sold it to me for a fiver because it was missing the camera plate and attachment.

Got any pics?

the 718 comes with a head, that you cannot swap :(

If you could put an OK quality ball head on it, then it would be the perfect UE tripod. but unfortunatly you can't. not without a metalworkshop :S

Hmm, I smell a project coming up - the head on my 718 is beginning to annoy me, but the rest of it is brilliant for urbex - shouldn't be that hard to make an adapter to take a standard head...

if your just talking about the plate and not the head, the plate is pretty much unique to the manfrotto range.

I used to have it with my S3 Pro but when I upgraded camera the head won't take the weight. Shame as it was very small and light but could extend to head height!

If only they did a stronger version
