Visited with DSV8 and two other mates earlier in the year but have only just got round to posting a report.
Originaly built to protect the workers of the Vickers-Armstrong aircraft factory during the second world war it is now a damn good place for light painting!
It consists of 17 parallel tunnels burrowed into the hillside. Each tunnel has its own entrance in the quarry face with a 50 foot doglegged access tunnel incorporating an airlock leading to the 180 foot long shelter tunnels. Further shelter space was provided with three cross tunnels linking the main 17 shelter tunnels. Tunnels 1 and 17 have large ventilation/filtration plants with ducting running back across the interlinking tunnel. 16 of the tunnel entrances are now bricked up and the 17th is now securely padlocked :(
Anyway enough rambling, on with the pictures....

Put some more photos up Jon, just normal lighting ones of the air filters and fans in tunnels 1 and 17 also some of the stuff left from later production in the shelter after the war. The no smoking signs and the paper notices about not talking to much to conserve oxygen. I expect that it will be near impossible to see this now without permission from the keyholder. So post up some more pics !!! Shame I did not have my camera with me when visiting, just took enough lights to light a small village up!
