Ramsgate tunnels - whats happening?

Was just wondering if anyone knows whats happening with the ramsgate tunnels? :confused

Has been nothing going on down there since July now though, bags of asbestos and wheelbarrows and all sorts just sitting around still no theory as to what is happening to it?

Apparently nothing is happening to them except removal of the Asbestos - I e-mailed the Thanet council planning Department a couple of months back.

According to the reply I got because it's a council owned property, they have to conduct an asbestos survey by law and make safe any asbestos found either by encapsulating it (as happens with buildings still in use) or removal of it, as in this case. As soon as it's done, it will go back to being a derelict set of tunnels again. There are no plans to open any of them, fill any of them in or anything like that. :thumb
