I've just realised that I hadn't posted my pics from RAF Barnham which I visited back in August!
RAF Barnham was a top secret nuclear weapons facility where bombs were built and stored. The place is in the depths of the Suffolk countryside and was a top secret site, obviously, and was only shut down in the '50s due to a spy revealing its location to the Russians!
The place is ringed by 3 large fences, however, as the place is now used for industrial purposes, I could walk straight in and wander around freely (Which kinda takes the fun out of it!).
This was the final gate and guard post before you actually entered the main facility:

The security level of the place became obvious as the large guardtower loomed overhead:

The site is built as a big pentagon, with a few buildings built around a central ring road. In the centre was the bomb manufacturing facility:

On the outside of the road was where the actual bombs were stored:

I then noticed a mysterious path and a small building:

I was then greeted with a view of some woods which were littered with small concrete sheds:

These sheds were where the plutonium cores for all the nuclear bombs were stored, all 55 of them!

Inside the sheds are where the cores were kept, although the original steel casing that was in the hole too has now been removed....and replaced with leaves:
