stepping lightly

Todmorden is a little Y shaped valley on the border of Lancashire and Yorkshire . Its narrow sided valley means that the river , road , railway and canal all fight for space in the valley bottom , the river is a clear loser as it is culvered 80% of its length which is why we were here...
Our first stop of the day was the great wall drain , local folk say it goes for miles , so our man Sneak nips across the merky water to bring us the truth..

About 250yards up the tunnel....

It shoots upward on some less than safe ladders..

So we moved on to our next little trip which in all its entirety is about 3 miles long but we just did the best bits.
Starting under the town hall...

It heads up the Burnley valley taking many shapes and forms on its way

At this junction

If you nip off left you come to a stonking little waterfall..

There are a few bits of daylight along the way..
(be carefull one is somebodies garden)

The end has a nice little sting in its tail..
