Finally, my nemesis is conquered! On my second attempt, I made it into the crow's nest of the tallest temporary structure in Liverpool, the Beetham West tower crane.
Me and snappel first hit this a month or so back, but I stopped 5 stages from the top. This time I was determined to cross it off my list. After what seemed like ages, we finally had the magic combination of good weather, good health, and a free evening. The only problem is the base is floodlit - we had some cats wandering around a few metres away when we were in plain view, but no-one ever looks up...
We ditched our non-essential equipment at the lifting stage and continued to the top. The breeze was fresh, the view was breathtaking. Once I got to the top, all my anxiety vanished & I entered a cool Zen-state. I could have stayed up there all night, but as it was, we got some pics and took in the view before returning unseen to the ground.

All in all, a wonderful night for a roofpunk like me.
