Myself, Saul and GeekGirl took a trip up there today. Dozy as I am, I didn't realise that the site was a helluva lot more than just the 5 storey breezeblock. Sadly, we only had a few hours of light so tried to make the most of it.
Took a short while to get inside. Had a scout round some of the outlying service tunnels but failed to find a way up from them into the buildings. We also found where all the spare plumbing, toilets and kitchen sinks were kept
Eventually we stumbled across the infamous tiny vent. No kidding, my laptop is bigger than that thing!!! None of us were convinced we'd get through, especially GG, who did the typical womanly "Does my bum look big in this?" Well bugger me, we got through!
We then took in 4 floors of identical wards which our dear law enforcement oficers have turned into the largest swiss cheese replica in the world by bashing holes in all the walls for dog training. There were spent blank rounds scattered everywhere, and in one of the toilets we found this bloke....

I didn't get a vast number of pics, simply because there are only so many pictures of empty wards I can justify taking. A few of the ones I did take are below. I didn't get one of the canteen, which in hindsight I should have. The police had been using it as a briefing room for their training, and also as a bin for their lunches. It was disgusting!

This can be found in the sewing room, above the kitchen attached to the main canteen. There are some good pics of that room in another thread on here somewhere. I'll link to it when I find it. :D
EDIT: Here we go. External site, John's to be precise. Link (http://home.btconnect.com/Hydraulic-Pneuma/billinge/billinge4.html)
