bit of brazing, soldering and chemical weld, 6 hours labour and some paint..............final total spend £17 lol, its great when u DIY it
we got it going a couple of weekends ago one late night, cheers to all that helped :thumb
so i thought i would post up some pics from start to finish, still not to sure on the colour but get a couple of scratches on it and i might change it to matt grey

Looks good mate. Wait till you chip all that paint off in some god forsaken crawl, you'll be well happy.
Anyway, the lamp worked a treat, it was still going in the morning.

Very nice mate, Love the candy red!
Mine finally arrived today, Its the same lamp as yours just doesn't have the shade. It has the light thing with a glass lens, which is removable so I can use it to light where I point it or to light an area say in a small room without the light thing (not sure what to call it). Its made originally for use in the railways and is date stamped 1945.

You can polish them up using a non scratch scourer. If youre keeping a bare metal finish, they get dirty really quickly, so no point doing more than that.
Tommo, dont chuck out the old beak, I'll have it.

ahahaha 10 points to the man in the trade its an old fliud tip for a sata minjet think its 0.8 but was a perfect fit and strong as well, i was going to use a 0.6 mig welding tip below
http://www.diytools.co.uk/diy/Images/DB_Detail/_40178_142891.jpg http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqR,!loE2EcTM6(-BNj5)07CbQ~~_12.JPG
so might make the old beak except the welding tip that way i can just get them any time i want plus u can go 0.4. 0.6 0.8 depending on the flame required :thumb
as for andrews one i wish my top section was in better condition i would of just polished the whole lot up then, but if u get some 1500 wet and dry and flat it all down, then use some wire wool to polish it with it will come up mint u could even t-cut it to bring up a good shine and to keep it good just laqour it but that will chip if dropped, my one will get battered but it just want it to look nice to start with, it cost fuck all to repaint it now its been repaired :)
i nearly bought this one as well its still for sale if any one wants it, £25 + £7.50 p+p its a good condition lamp as well just needs a polish

or for a group buy these beauty's but i can see them going for stupid money but if enough of us want them there are 11 lol i would be up for one of them but quids in i can see them going for a good £250 for them all if not more, may be we should doa group buy with one person bidding

I've never seen these ones before, until this thread, then theres bloody loads! Railways eh? The reflector thing looks like it doesn't belong down a mine, but the lamps themselves look like hardy little things :p

sorry sir but i have to disagree.......
do you not think the handle position will help as a good hand warmer...???
and the size of the flame will be very safe on rope ladders........!!!!!!
