Guerilla exhibition in derelict building. Want to be part of it?

I'm putting together an exhibition in an abandoned factory in Birmingham.

It's going to be genuinely guerilla style, it's literally abandoned and pikeyed, it's 90% weatherproof, completely authentic, this isn't some kind of space for hire. The place is secured (perhaps not by the person who did that originally ;)) and we have access to it, that's about it!

This is a call for submissions, I know there's some photographers out there, and I'm pretty sure there's some other artists too. I'm open to anything, send me your proposals :)

It runs from Friday 29th July until Sunday 7th Augustand any work would have to be available to be hung\installed before Friday 29th July. There's no guarantee that anything you put in will\won't stay dry, suffer damage or be stolen by pikeys and it definitely won't be insured. Having said that, the p,lace will be inhabited throughout, unless there's some kind of raid...

You will be part of a group show though and this should get some idependent media coverage, definitely online coverage.

Right, I'll be painting the picture of xan in the tunnel and will try to sort out arrangements about getting to Birmingham (having an auntie in Coventry helps :D) and will perhaps find another thing to make into art.

Just to confirm, you need to send me a photo\proposal of what you want to put in. My email is in my posts.

I'll let you know if it's chosen. Stuff other than photos is more than encouraged.

There won't be space for everything, plus it's not themed or about exploring, more about spaces, but I'm open to any theme, and there's other people involved, I'm just putting it here to to give people on 28DL the opportunity to get involved.

Has potential to be epic. You need to be able to get your stuff to Birmingham before 12th August and collect it after the 21st too!

Sounds like a good idea. I'll get my thinking cap on.

I've got a couple of installation art ideas. Security guard in formaldehyde, and Pikey on Fire.
Pikey on Fire has the protagonist sawing through a live 11Kv HV cable with some mild pyrotechnics taking place.

Your work is slightly different to the usual photo submissions though - it takes a lot longer to get a replacement made and they're a lot more absorbent!
